Case studies

A few projects that show how we find the real problem and solve it the right way — with the outcomes, not just the work.

These are drawn from the founder’s 30+ years of engineering and AI work — in prior roles and at previous companies, surfaced here as a track record. Clients are described by sector and scale rather than by name. BatQuest is new; the experience behind it is not.

Systems & engineering

Unblocking a packaging line by rebuilding the information system

A Fortune 400 manufacturer in South Carolina — packaging equipment area.

The problem

The packaging line was a bottleneck. The information systems feeding the plant production system down to the equipment were overly complex and unreliable, so production conversions were slow and error-prone.

What we did

Led a complete redesign of the information flow between the production system and the packaging equipment — removing unnecessary code and redundant displays, and adding sequential step verification so each production conversion was quick and unambiguous.

The outcome

The packaging area went from a recurring bottleneck to running with 30% excess capacity — more throughput, fewer failures, faster changeovers.

  • 70%unnecessary code eliminated
  • 40%redundant displays removed
  • 30%excess capacity after redesign

Excel & automation

An automated scheduling system that restored on-time delivery

A Fortune 100 equipment manufacturer in South Carolina — design engineering group.

The problem

The design team was struggling to use its resources effectively and to meet internal schedule commitments. Scheduling and workload allocation were manual, slow, and hard to forecast against.

What we did

Identified the real process needs, then designed and built an automated scheduling system — primarily in Excel with VBA — that turned manual scheduling and forecasting into a reliable, repeatable workflow.

The outcome

On-time design delivery improved by 20%, and the team gained a 4x improvement in forecasting and allocating workload — capacity and commitments became predictable instead of guesswork.

  • 20%improvement in on-time design delivery
  • 4xbetter workload forecasting & allocation

AI & analysis

Custom AI tools for deeper, faster financial analysis

A small accounting firm in South Carolina.

The problem

The firm needed advanced financial analysis to set its business direction, but the manual approach was slow and left little room for the depth they wanted.

What we did

Built custom AI tooling tailored to the firm’s analysis needs — running the firm’s own financial material through a private, controlled workflow rather than a generic public tool.

The outcome

The analysis saved about 30% of the time versus doing it by hand, while being more thorough and higher quality — giving the firm a confident basis for its business redirection.

  • 30%time saved vs. manual analysis
  • Higherthoroughness & quality of analysis
